TATTOO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
Healing with View Guard®
- Leave View Guard® film on for 24 hours. Take off the film, and wash carefully with a scent-free, dye-free soap. Gently use two or three fingers to wash the tattoo in a circular motion. Rinse, and pat dry.
- Apply second patch of View Guard®, provided by your artist, to cover your tattoo completely.
- Leave the second film on for 5-7 days. This should protect your artwork even while in the shower. You should avoid submerging your tattoo fully in water, e.g., hot tubs, swimming pools, baths, etc.
- When removing the View Guard® film, carefully pull away at any loose side, gently removing the film. It may stick a little to untattooed skin, so do not rip it off quickly! Some redness around the edges of the film may occur. If any swelling or allergic reaction to the film occurs, remove it immediately.
- Hydrocortisone cream can be beneficial in clearing up any minor allergies to either the film or its adhesive. Do not apply hydrocortisone cream directly to the tattoo itself. Only apply cream to non-tattooed irritated skin. For any major allergic reactions, please contact your local health care provider.
- Any questions or concerns please contact your artist for further instruction.
*Please note: if you have any skin allergies, please inform your artist BEFORE they begin your tattoo session.
Healing with Aquaphor® Healing Ointment
- Remove wrapped tattoo and wash gently with dye-free, scent-free soap. Rinse well and pat dry.
- Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor®, massaging it into your tattoo. Please be mindful that too much ointment could attract dust and dirt particles as well as hindering the healing process.
- Repeat above as needed and remember to wash off old ointment before applying a fresh layer. Do not let the tattoo dry out and it should be healed fully within two weeks. Please do not pick at any scabbing or dry areas as you could damage your skin and/or tattoo.
- Any questions or concerns please contact your artist for further instruction.
*Please note that if you are aware of any skin allergies please inform your artist BEFORE they begin your tattoo session.
